1) Base plates
Strengthen your beautiful legs while sitting at your desk. Trust me, no one will know you’re working out! Just sit on the edge of a chair, knees bent, and put your feet on the floor. Gently extend your right leg in front of you until it is straight and parallel to the floor. Hold for 10 seconds, release and repeat with the other leg. Perform the exercise five times on each leg.
2) Drill bits
Another exercise you can do at your desk is the foot exercise. Remember how football players tap their feet during practice? You can also do it at your desk! While seated, try swinging your feet for 30 seconds – or longer if you can!
3) Shoulder height
It is an excellent way to relieve tension in the neck. Raise your shoulders to your ear, hold for 10 seconds and relax. For even more stretching, do one shoulder at a time, then alternate five times with each shoulder.
4) Reverse rotation
Release the tension in your back with this great back exercise. To begin, sit in a chair and place your right hand behind your right hip. Lean to your right side and hold for 10 seconds, then repeat the process on the other side. Try three approaches on each side.
5) Sit on the chair
Sit down, place your hands on the armrest of the chair and move your lower body forward on the seat. Slowly stretch your arms and lift your body off the chair and hold for 10 seconds. Return to the starting position and repeat four more times.
6) Take regular breaks from work
This is obviously not the kind of exercise you can do at your desk, but it is a great one! Your boss might not like to hear this, but regular breaks for walking and fresh air should be a regular part of everyone’s workday. The next time you’re sitting at your computer and feeling sleepy, get up and go to the break room, or better yet, go outside and walk around the building. When you come back, you’ll be full of energy and it’s even better when you’re fresh.
The next time you want to do a quick workout while working out, try these exercises for a great stretch that will leave you feeling great afterwards!
